Venue
The FNB building, which opened in 1932, is the work of architects Adolf Florensa and Joaquim Vilaseca. Rectangular in plan, it follows a neoclassical style inspired by the Lonja de Mar building and is surrounded by four exterior porticoes of columns and an interior articulated around a central hall. Some of its emblems include the model of the ship Carlos (1769) that presides over the lobby, as well as the leaded stained glass window in the staircase leading to the second floor, and the crystal chandelier depicting the ship Santa María. The educational center also has a planetarium, built in 1948, which is the oldest in Barcelona.
